Overview: The Garlstedter Heide course of Club zur Vahr is a heathland layout located north of Bremen. The course plays through a pine forest, featuring fairways bordered by heather, sand bunkers, and undulating greens.
History: Designed by Bernhard von Limburger and opened in 1963, the course was built to host national championships. It was renovated in 2004 by Christoph Städler, who restored the heathland characteristics and modernized the hazards.
Did You Know? The sandy subsoil of the Garlstedt heath provides excellent natural drainage, allowing the course to remain playable in wet conditions. The purple heather that blooms in late summer offers a colorful backdrop for the holes.
