Overview: Zanpa Golf Club is an 18-hole course in Yomitan on Okinawa’s central-west coast, with the official site describing a sea-view setting and a par-58 routing of 2,883 yards. The course is compact, but it is not simply a practice loop: eighteen separate holes create a complete round, with par threes, short par fours and par fives asking players to manage distance and shape rather than rely on brute force. The coastal atmosphere, warm climate and nearby resort areas make Zanpa a distinctive part of the Yomitan golf landscape.
History: The current operator’s course guide preserves a clear two-nine identity. The front nine is called the Matsu Course, while holes 10 through 18 form the Gajimaru Course. That naming gives the short layout a strong sense of internal structure and helps distinguish it from the many Okinawan facilities that combine separate nine-hole loops. The same official page also documents the restaurant and practice facilities, showing a course that has developed as a self-contained local golf destination rather than as an anonymous directory entry.
Did You Know? Zanpa’s two nines have their own names: Matsu for the opening side and Gajimaru for the closing side. The gajimaru is an Okinawan banyan tree, so the name connects the course’s final nine to the island’s subtropical plant life as well as to its golf identity.
