Overview: Yas Links Abu Dhabi is an 18-hole coastal links course on the western shore of Yas Island. Kyle Phillips shaped it around rolling ground, mangrove planting and the open horizon of the Arabian Gulf, creating a layout where the sea is part of the visual and strategic setting rather than a distant backdrop. The championship course plays to par 72 and 7,450 yards, with broad links-style lines, natural-looking dunes and wind that can change the value of an aggressive shot.
History: Yas Links opened in 2010 as a modern links course designed specifically for Abu Dhabi's developing Yas Island destination. Phillips's aim was to make a new course feel as though it belonged to the coastline, and the result became one of the region's early purpose-built links layouts. The course has since been used for major professional and international golf events, adding a competitive chapter to its resort history.
Did You Know? Eight holes of the main course play directly along the coastline, while every hole has a view toward the shore. The wider facility also includes a floodlit nine-hole par-three academy course and extensive practice areas. Course information lists 112 bunkers on the championship layout, so the visual simplicity of the coastal setting is matched by a substantial amount of detail around the landing zones and greens.
