Overview: Yalong Bay Golf Club is an 18-hole coastal resort course beside one of Sanya's best-known beaches. The Sanya Tourism Board describes a par-72 layout across 68 hectares, with broad fairways, 98 bunkers and a 120,000-square-metre winding river that cuts through the course. Its tropical garden character can look relaxed, but the combination of water, sand and coastal wind gives the round a clear strategic backbone.
History: Yalong Bay was established around 2000 and became one of the anchor courses of Sanya's golf-tourism development. Robert Trent Jones II is credited with the design in current tourism material, and the course has been used for the Sanya Women's Open and other high-profile activity. The PGA of America Learning and Performance Center opened at the club in 2022, adding a current training dimension to the resort venue.
Did You Know? The winding river covers 120,000 square metres, much more than a small water feature beside a green. It divides and reconnects the playing ground, making the course's tropical garden appearance depend on a major piece of water architecture. The 98 bunkers add a second, more granular layer of strategy.
