Overview: Winding along a scenic bend of the Aare River near Solothurn, Switzerland, the Blau/Rot combination at Wylihof Golf Club is a flat, 18-hole parkland course designed by Kurt Rossknecht and H. Ruzzo Reuss. The layout features wide, rolling fairways bordered by mature trees, strategically placed lakes, and large, subtly sloped putting greens. The course requires accurate tee shots and disciplined approach play to navigate the water hazards and the river margins.
History: Founded in 1993 and opened for play in 1995, Wylihof was built to establish a premier tournament venue in Central Switzerland. Rossknecht and Reuss utilized the flat alluvial plain of the Aare valley to design a highly walkable yet strategic championship layout. Over the years, the club has hosted multiple national amateur championships and Swiss PGA events.
Did You Know? Wylihof is celebrated for having some of the longest individual holes in Switzerland. The par-5 13th hole stretches to nearly 600 meters (656 yards) from the championship tees, challenging even the most powerful long hitters.
