Overview: Cedar and Pine form the original 18-hole identity at Woodlands Country Club in southern Sweden. The two nines run through woodland, open clearings, ponds and streams, giving the resort a varied landscape despite the strong forest character. Hans Fock’s design provides generous playing space from many tees, but the greens and water features make the second shot important. The course is best understood as a thoughtful woodland layout rather than a narrow tree tunnel, with enough open ground for the wind and weather to influence the round.
History: Cedar and Pine opened in 1991 as the first major course at Woodlands. The resort later expanded to 27 holes with the Magnolia nine, creating the possibility of rotating the three loops into different 18-hole combinations. That means the historical ranked identity remains Cedar/Pine even though the facility’s current operating pattern can vary by day and season.
Did You Know? The name Woodlands describes the setting accurately, but the resort’s three-loop structure means players can experience a different 18-hole sequence on a later visit. The course identity is therefore both a historic pairing and part of a larger flexible layout.
