Overview: Situated on the historic "Smitsschorre" terrain in Zeeland, Woeste Kop is a rugged and rhythmic parkland course that celebrates the maritime spirit of the south. Designed by Bruno Steensels, the course is defined by its exposure to the fierce winds of the Westerschelde and a layout that winds through diverse landscapes, including quiet, tree-lined corridors and more open, scenic vistas. With its par-72 championship challenge and large, subtly contoured green complexes, it provides a high-quality competitive experience that rewards power and tactical adjustment, offering a sense of frontier-style scale unique to the polders of Zeeuws-Vlaanderen.
Did You Know? The club is located in an area that was historically a "waste land" of clay and reeds (hence the name "Wild Head"), and its transformation into a championship golf course is considered a major triumph of regional land management. Today, the course is a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary" and is home to one of the largest colonies of rare orchids in the province, which thrive in the un-mowed sandy roughs that define the course's strategic challenge.
