Overview: Wintonbury Hills Golf Course is a public 18-hole Pete Dye and Timothy Liddy layout in Bloomfield, Connecticut. The current directory lists par 70 and 6,711 yards. The course combines open, links-like holes with tree-lined corridors and moves through approximately 80 acres of wetlands and forest. Water, wind and changing ground are central to the strategy, especially near the Bloomfield reservoir. The routing was planned as a walking course, with greens and tees kept close enough to make the full round feel connected rather than needlessly stretched.
History: Wintonbury Hills was designed by Tim Liddy with Pete Dye and opened in 2005. It was built on environmentally sensitive terrain that required extensive permitting and became Pete Dye's first championship design in New England. The public course quickly gained recognition, while Audubon International certification reflects the continuing effort to protect natural resources and provide habitat within the golf landscape.
Did You Know? The 14th is a 455-yard par four that plays along the town's water-retention reservoir. It is one of the clearest places where the course's municipal infrastructure, wetland setting and Dye-influenced strategy meet in a single hole.
