Overview: Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club is an 18-hole woodland course in Nairobi, routed through indigenous forest and former coffee-farm land. Tom Macauley designed the course to championship standard, with tree-lined fairways, more than seventy bunkers, selective water hazards and a peninsula green at the 18th. The Kenya Tourism Board lists 7,290 yards from the championship tees and par 72.
History: Windsor opened in 1992 as one of Kenya's early international-standard 18-hole courses. The design retained substantial stands of forest on a former coffee estate while creating a resort course beside the hotel. Its history now includes professional events such as the Windsor Senior Masters and repeated recognition in Kenya's national golf landscape.
Did You Know? The 18th is a 420-yard finishing hole played to a peninsula green, making the last approach one of the clearest water decisions on the course. The Kenya Tourism Board also notes that the forest is habitat for birdlife including Egyptian geese, black kites and brown eagles.
