Overview: Wilderness is a private Naples course set through forested land, natural lakes and native plantings. The club describes an environmentally minded community and a golf course that winds through a low-profile tropical landscape.
History: The community was founded in 1974 on land that had been part of the Frank family ranch, and the golf course opened on January 1, 1975. The property became Naples’ first gated community and has held Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary status since 1999.
Did You Know? The club has documented more than 80 bird species within the community. That wildlife record helps explain why the natural setting is part of the course’s heritage and management story.
