Overview: Wicker Point Golf Club sits among Lake Martin's wooded hills in Alexander City, Alabama. Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw shaped the course around the natural lake and ridge landscape, allowing broad views, native vegetation and changing ground lines to define the strategy.
History: Russell Lands selected Coore and Crenshaw for the project and the course opened in 2023. The architects' stated aim was to draw out the beauty of the lake and hills while preserving the existing environment.
Did You Know? Wicker Point is part of Russell Lands' long-standing land stewardship around Lake Martin. The course was designed to showcase the lake and hills rather than conceal them behind heavy planting or large-scale reshaping.
