Overview: Big Wick at Wickenburg Ranch is a desert course in western Arizona, set among open mountain terrain, washes and native Sonoran vegetation. Bill Brownlee and Wendell Pickett shaped the routing to use the land's natural folds, with broad landing areas giving way to more exacting green approaches. The course combines desert scale with a quieter western-ranch atmosphere.
History: The property began as a desert resort in 1973 and was later associated with entertainer Merv Griffin's Wickenburg Inn Dude Ranch. Wickenburg Ranch officially opened its present community in early 2015, with Big Wick forming the main 18-hole golf course.
Did You Know? Wickenburg Ranch's earlier identity as a dude ranch remains part of the property's story. The course is named Big Wick, a reference to the ranch's western setting and its larger championship routing rather than a separate club in another Arizona city.
