Overview: The Wianno Club is a private Donald Ross course on a bluff above Nantucket Sound in Osterville, Massachusetts. Its compact coastal parkland routing combines breezes, sandy ground, mature vegetation, and the quiet visual character of a historic Cape Cod summer club.
History: The Wianno Club was formed in 1916 after members assembled the former hotel property and surrounding waterfront land. Donald Ross was hired in 1919 to redesign the original nine and create a new nine, producing the 18-hole course associated with the club today.
Did You Know? Wianno’s setting is inseparable from the water: the club sits above Nantucket Sound and grew out of the same summer-resort culture that shaped Osterville. Its golf course and waterfront club history developed together rather than as separate properties.
