Overview: Whispering Pines Golf Club occupies pine and hardwood forest beside Lake Livingston in Trinity, Texas. Chet Williams shaped the course through rolling ground, creeks, lakes and natural dunes, with the final holes moving toward Caney Creek and the lake headwaters.
History: Owner Corby Robertson began staking out the routing in the early 1990s before Williams of Nicklaus Design was hired to complete the course. Whispering Pines opened in March 2000, twenty months after Williams began the final design work.
Did You Know? The course is home to The Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship, a biennial event that brings men and women amateurs from around the world to compete in Texas.
