Overview: Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland, is a public parkland course designed by Ernie Els and J. Michael Poellot. Winding through rolling hills, native woodlands, and open fields, the layout features dramatic elevation changes, wide fairways, and complex greens, offering a scenic and strategic round in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains that tests both accuracy and distance.
History: Opened in 2000, the course was Ernie Els' first signature design project in the United States. Els and Poellot designed the layout to highlight the natural topography of the Blue Ridge foothills. The course has consistently ranked among the best public courses in the state.
Did You Know? The signature par-five eighteenth hole features the historic stone ruins of a nineteenth-century German farmhouse sitting directly in the middle of the fairway, splitting the landing areas. This unique hazard requires players to choose between a conservative shot or a risky carry over the stone walls.
