Overview: Weston Golf Club is a historic private course west of Boston, centered on an 18-hole Donald Ross design. The current par-72 layout measures 6,657 yards from the black tees and combines compact fairway corridors with the strategic slopes and green contours associated with Ross. Newer holes and careful maintenance keep the classic framework in use for modern club golf.
History: The club was established in 1894, moved to its present property in 1916–17 and opened Ross’s expanded layout in 1923. Geoffrey Cornish designed the two newest holes in 1965, converting the course to its current par 72. Later work restored bunkers, greens and irrigation while retaining the historic routing.
Did You Know? Weston’s history includes two different opening dates that are both relevant: 1894 marks the club’s beginning, while 1923 marks the Ross 18-hole layout on the current property. Using the latter for course information avoids confusing the club’s origin with the present course.
