Overview: Wellington Country Club’s Griffin Course is a 9-hole loop in Icheon, set among groves, valleys and ridges in a hilly forest landscape. The official club page lists par 36 and 3,668 yards, and describes Griffin as the most hill-oriented of Wellington’s three named loops. The directory record is kept at the Griffin-loop level rather than treated as the full 27-hole facility.
History: Wellington’s course complex is organized around three nine-hole routings named Griffin, Phoenix and Wyvern. Griffin is the forest-and-hill component, while the other loops provide different landscape moods, so a normal 18-hole round is assembled from the available nines.
Did You Know? The Wellington loops use mythological creatures as their names, with Griffin, Phoenix and Wyvern each giving a different identity to one nine-hole course.
