Overview: Wedgewood Golf Course has an 18-hole estate layout on the western edge of Gqeberha, where tree-lined fairways, open veld and a network of dams create a parkland setting close to the city. The course forms part of a larger golf-and-country estate, but the surrounding land remains a major part of the experience: water, natural vegetation and views across the Sunshine Coast landscape shape the round as much as the greens do.
History: Wedgewood was developed as a combined golf, residential and country-living project rather than as a standalone club. The course is described in the estate’s current architectural guidelines as established and in high demand, with the fairways winding between residential erven. Over time the estate has expanded around the course, while its original idea of pairing golf with protected open land remains visible in the dams and undisturbed areas.
Did You Know? The estate has nine dams and borders Hopewell Nature Reserve. The official estate material highlights sightings of buck, birds and other wildlife, so Wedgewood’s defining feature is not only the golf course but the amount of living landscape that remains between and beyond the fairways.
