Overview: Wayzata Country Club is a Robert Bruce Harris design in the western Minneapolis suburbs, with a parkland routing shaped by mature trees, water and broad turf corridors. The current course is reported at 6,932 yards and retains a classic Midwestern framework after later work by John Fought.
History: The present course dates to 1957, while the club’s history reaches back to an earlier farm and equestrian setting. In 2008, John Fought upgraded tees, fairways and bunkers, modernizing the playing surfaces without discarding the underlying Harris character.
Did You Know? Wayzata’s site began with more than golf in mind. The club’s own history records an earlier agricultural and equestrian chapter before the current golf course took shape.
