Overview: Waldorf Astoria Golf Club is a Rees Jones and Steve Weisser course set among wetlands and Bonnet Creek near the Walt Disney World area. The layout uses elevated tees and greens, native preserve edges, and broad corridors to create a classic parkland feel on otherwise flat Florida ground. At 7,108 yards and par 72, it offers a substantial resort round without losing sight of playability.
History: The course officially opened in 2009 as the first Waldorf Astoria golf course and became a central amenity for the Orlando resort complex. Jones elevated portions of the site to create more movement, then used wetlands and Bonnet Creek as natural boundaries. Later restoration work updated green complexes and bunkering while preserving the course's original routing.
Did You Know? Jones described the course as a walk in the park because the tees and greens are placed close together. That compact movement between holes is unusual for a large resort course and helps explain its approachable rhythm.
