Overview: The Blue Course at Wailea is the original course in the Maui resort complex, with broad fairways, gentle slopes and ocean views from the foothills of Haleakalā. Arthur Jack Snyder’s par-72 routing uses the dry south-Maui climate and the changing line toward the Pacific to create a more open, approachable character than the Gold course.
History: The course opened in 1972 and is credited to Arthur Jack Snyder. Wailea later added the Gold and Emerald courses, both designed by Robert Trent Jones II, creating the three-course complex that the current operator presents today.
Did You Know? The Blue, Gold and Emerald courses are not three versions of one routing. They are separate layouts with different designers and terrain, and the Blue course is the older Snyder design at the heart of the original Wailea golf development.
