Overview: Vineyard Golf at Renault Winery is a public resort course in Egg Harbor City, New Jersey, routed through the sandy Pinelands landscape beside the Renault winery property. Ed Shearon’s par-72 design uses vineyard views, wooded edges, water, and sandy ground to create a setting that feels different from a conventional suburban daily-fee course.
History: The golf course was developed as part of the Renault destination and opened in 2004. Shearon’s project moved from groundbreaking to opening in roughly 18 months, using the property’s existing vineyards, orchards, windbreaks, and sand quarries as part of the design context. The winery itself traces its history to 1864.
Did You Know? A former sand quarry cuts through the eighth fairway, making the property’s working landscape visible in the golf routing. Renault’s identity is therefore not just a resort label: the course is physically tied to the winery and the Pinelands ground on which it was built.
