Overview: Vero Beach Country Club is a private 18-hole course in the heart of Vero Beach. The classic parkland setting uses mature oaks, lakes, waterways and Spanish moss, with a par-72 layout that remains closely tied to the city's history.
History: The club was founded in 1924, and Herbert Strong is credited with the original design. Charles Ankrom and John Sanford also appear in the course's design history, including Sanford's later work on the back nine and subsequent renovations.
Did You Know? The club has used seashore paspalum for more than two decades to cope with salty water and a low-lying site. It is also Audubon Certified, connecting the historic course to modern habitat and water-management work.
