Overview: Whispering Oak is the second 18-hole private course at Verandah in Fort Myers. The Nicklaus design team shaped the course within the Orange River community, using Florida vegetation, water and natural corridors to distinguish it from Old Orange.
History: Verandah's club information credits Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II with Whispering Oak. The facility's two-course history is therefore a combination of separate design stories rather than one shared layout.
Did You Know? Verandah extends along roughly two miles of the Orange River. That river setting is the common environmental thread between the two courses, even though their architects and routing identities differ.
