Overview: Veckefjärden is an 18-hole course in the Höga Kusten region, where woodland, streams and changing elevation give the round a distinctly northern Swedish rhythm. Tommy Nordström’s design uses the natural ground rather than flattening it, so approach shots often depend on the lie and the player’s ability to control distance into raised or shaped greens. The course combines open views with more enclosed holes and has a resort-like setting without losing its local landscape. It is a course that rewards an organised game plan, especially when the weather turns fresh and changeable.
History: The first ground was broken in 1999, the first nine holes became playable in 2002, and the complete 18-hole course was inaugurated in 2003. Tommy Nordström designed the layout, which was developed through a long construction process in a demanding northern climate. The course now forms the centre of a broader golf facility with practice and hospitality services.
Did You Know? The club’s own history describes the project as beginning with a first spade in 1999. That construction milestone makes the finished course feel like the result of a long landscape project rather than a quick build.
