Overview: Located near Helsingborg, Sweden, the Classic Course at Vasatorps Golfklubb is a historic 18-hole parkland and woodland course originally designed by Ture Bruce and later updated by Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest. The layout winds through a mature forest of oak, pine, and beech trees, featuring tight, tree-lined fairways, strategic doglegs, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course demands precise tee shots and careful tactical management to score well.
History: Opened in 1974, the course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in Scandinavia. Over the decades, it hosted the prestigious Scandinavian Enterprise Open on the European Tour in the late 1970s and 1980s. Arthur Hills and Steve Forrest later completed a respectful modernization that updated the bunkering and greens while preserving the classic forest routing.
Did You Know? The club is widely celebrated for its rich competitive history, having welcomed legendary champions such as Severiano Ballesteros, Sandy Lyle, and Greg Norman to its tournament fairways during the golden era of the Scandinavian Enterprise Open.
