Overview: Located in Luvinate, near Varese in northern Italy, Varese Golf Club is a historic 18-hole parkland course designed by British architects Peter Gannon and Cecil Blandford. Winding across a highly undulating, wooded property overlooking Lake Varese, the layout features steep elevation changes, tight, tree-lined fairways, and small, severely sloped putting surfaces. The course demands pinpoint accuracy off the tee and highly disciplined approach play.
History: Founded in 1897, the club moved to its current location in 1934. The course has meticulously maintained its historic routing and classic, British-inspired strategic values, serving as a historic center for Italian golf and hosting numerous national championships, including the Italian Open on the European Tour.
Did You Know? The club's spectacular clubhouse is a beautifully restored, massive 12th-century monastery. It features original cloisters and a stunning, elevated terrace that offers panoramic views over Lake Varese and the distant peaks of the Monte Rosa massif.
