Overview: Valley Golf & Country Club’s original South routing has 18 holes at the club in Antipolo, Rizal. It plays to par 72, and the current official scorecard shows 6,988 yards from the championship gold tees, with several shorter tee sets. Jas H. Scott is credited with the original layout. The course is shaped by the property’s rolling ground, mature vegetation and views across the Valley, creating a traditional country-club round in which distance control and angles into the greens matter as much as raw length.
History: Valley Golf was organised in 1958 and the South Course opened in 1961. The club’s official history describes it as the original course, built before later growth in play led to the creation of the North Course. The corporate record treats the South and North as distinct routings within the same club, and the official scorecards maintain separate cards for each. That continuity makes the South the historical anchor of the Valley Golf complex.
Did You Know? The South’s championship card stretches close to 7,000 yards, but the course’s history is older than that number suggests. It began as the club’s first layout in the early 1960s, then remained in play while Valley expanded with the North. The result is a two-course complex where the older South preserves the original identity while the newer North adds a contrasting later routing.
