Overview: Union League Liberty Hill is an expansive private Gary Player course in Lafayette Hill, spread across 311 acres. The modern layout combines broad fairways and large greens with streams, lakes, mature trees, wetlands and exposed rock. The property’s scale allows the course to move between open, strategic holes and more constrained approaches near water and wooded edges.
History: The course was created in 2002 on the former ACE Club property and is now part of the Union League’s collection of golf facilities. Gary Player’s design incorporated the rolling terrain and existing natural features, while later management continued to emphasize environmental stewardship and a full practice offering.
Did You Know? The short par-four fifth is a deliberate risk-reward hole: it plays downhill, is potentially drivable and has a large bunker dividing the fairway. Hole 11 offers a different version of the same idea, with a downhill tee shot narrowed by bunkers and a pond.
