Overview: Turtle Beach Golf Club is a legendary and rustic sand course located on the remote Masirah Island off the coast of Oman. Historically associated with the Royal Air Force personnel stationed on the island, the 18-hole layout is a pure desert experience with no grass in sight. Instead of greens, the course features oiled sand "browns," and the fairways consist of the natural island terrain. It represents a vanishing breed of informal, military-legacy golf courses that were built by enthusiasts for recreation in the most isolated reaches of the Arabian Peninsula.
Did You Know? The course is named after the island's famous nesting beaches for Loggerhead and Green sea turtles. While it lacks the manicured luxury of Oman's mainland resorts, it offers a truly unique "links" experience where the holes play over raw beach sands and rocky outcrops. It is one of the few places in the world where a golfer might find themselves playing a round while overlooking some of the most important marine conservation sites in the Indian Ocean.
