Overview: Originally founded in 1897 as the Lothian Golf Club and renamed Turnhouse in 1909, this historic Edinburgh course is a premier parkland venue with a rich architectural pedigree. The initial layout was created by the three-time Open Champion Willie Park Jr., with significant amendments made by the great James Braid in the 1920s. The course is characterized by its rolling fairways, mature tree-lined holes, and a series of challenging par-3s that are widely regarded as some of the best in the region. Its strategic routing and exceptionally maintained greens provide a robust and enjoyable test for players of all levels.
Did You Know? The club is located adjacent to Edinburgh Airport, but its clever landscaping and the natural topography of the land ensure that it remains a tranquil and sheltered oasis. Turnhouse is also famous for its vibrant competitive history and its role as a regular host for Lothians county championships.
