Overview: Tullymore Golf Club is an 18-hole Jim Engh course in Stanwood, Michigan, with a par-72 routing that reaches 6,702 yards from the championship tees. The course moves through sprawling woodlands, open meadows and wetlands, using changes in vegetation and elevation to make the holes feel separate from one another. Engh's design is known for large-scale visual movement around the green complexes, but the strategic choices begin well before the approach. Fairway position affects the next angle, and the broad landscape can make a safe line appear more difficult than the direct one. Five par threes and five par fives give the scorecard a distinctive balance.
History: Tullymore opened in 2002 as the principal course at Tullymore Golf Resort. Jim Engh shaped the routing around the existing Michigan landscape rather than forcing the property into a uniform parkland pattern. The course's official material continues to identify the par-72 format, five par threes and five par fives, while current course records support the 6,702-yard championship setup. Tullymore developed alongside the resort's St. Ives course, but it has its own architectural identity, with a larger sense of scale and more pronounced movement through woods, meadows and wet ground.
Did You Know? Tullymore has five par threes and five par fives, an unusually even split that changes the pace of a par-72 round. The scorecard therefore asks for two different kinds of scoring discipline: controlled distance on the long holes and precise target play on the short ones.
