Overview: Tubac Golf Resort offers a lush and historic parkland experience set along the banks of the Santa Cruz River in Southern Arizona. Originally designed by Robert "Red" Lawrence in 1959 and later expanded by Ken Kavanaugh, the Anza and Rancho nines wind through ancient groves of cottonwood and mesquite trees. Unlike the rugged desert layouts typical of the region, Tubac features wide, verdant fairways and a serene, "old-world" atmosphere. The layout is noted for its strategic use of the river and several large lakes, providing a visually captivating and tranquil round in a unique Mediterranean-style climate.
Did You Know? Tubac Golf Resort achieved pop-culture immortality as a primary filming location for the 1996 classic movie Tin Cup; the famous scene where Kevin Costner’s character refuses to lay up was filmed on the 4th hole of the Rancho nine, and the clubhouse still maintains a gallery of memorabilia from the production.
