Overview: Trophy Lake Golf & Casting Club is an 18-hole John Fought course on the Kitsap Peninsula near Port Orchard. The layout combines dense Pacific Northwest forest, sloping fairways, expansive greens and more than 80 deep-faced white-sand bunkers. From the longest tees it reaches 7,206 yards at par 72, with views toward the Olympic Mountains and Mount Rainier. Golf and fly fishing are intentionally paired on the property, so ponds, wetlands and water edges contribute to the club's identity as much as the fairways and greens.
History: Trophy Lake opened in 1999 as a John Fought design built around two regional traditions: golf and fishing. The operator presents the property through a fishing-lodge-style clubhouse, a golf course and casting facilities, creating a combined outdoor destination rather than a standalone course. The layout's forested setting and risk-and-reward approach have remained central to its presentation, while the tee system allows the same 18 holes to be played at several scales.
Did You Know? The casting side of Trophy Lake is part of the original concept, not a later add-on. Its name reflects a deliberate pairing of a championship golf layout with fly-fishing water, giving the Port Orchard property a rare dual identity in Northwest golf.
