Overview: The Pinnacle Course at Troon North moves through Scottsdale's Sonoran Desert foothills with Tom Weiskopf's routing keeping the holes visually separate and the surrounding land close to the game. Arroyos, native vegetation, rock outcrops and changing elevation frame a course that rewards line selection more than simple distance. The 7,036-yard par-71 layout gives the desert a strong architectural role.
History: The Pinnacle was added to Troon North in the mid-1990s as the companion to Weiskopf and Jay Morrish's earlier Monument Course. The two-course facility established a core-golf model in which housing is kept away from the playing corridors and the desert setting remains continuous from hole to hole.
Did You Know? The Pinnacle's 14th is a 609-yard par five that runs through steep arroyos, making it one of the longest holes at Troon North. Its scale contrasts with the shorter strategic holes elsewhere on the course and shows how much the routing varies within one round.
