Overview: Fullarton is the shortest of Troon Links’ three 18-hole courses, but its 4,867 yards and par 64 do not make it a token round. The course is an inland-links style layout with small greens, eight par threes and a compact routing that can be completed in under three hours. Firm ground and the Ayrshire wind make distance control central to the experience, while the short scorecard gives golfers a chance to focus on line, trajectory and recovery play. The current course guide does not state an architect or opening year for this exact routing, so those fields remain blank.
History: Fullarton forms part of the Troon Links public golf operation, which also includes the longer Darley and Lochgreen courses. The three layouts are presented as a group, allowing different levels of length and difficulty in the same coastal destination. Fullarton’s current identity is therefore tied to the wider Troon links rather than to a separately documented designer or founding date.
Did You Know? Eight par threes on a par-64 course make Fullarton unusually rich in short-hole decisions. A golfer can score well by controlling distance and avoiding three-putts even when the wind is moving, while the compact length makes the course attractive for a quick round. Its small greens and inland-links ground give the short layout a character distinct from Troon’s championship scale.
