Overview: Jones Masterpiece at Treetops Resort is a resort Robert Trent Jones Sr. course in Gaylord, Michigan. The routing overlooks the Pigeon River Valley and uses heavy forest, rolling hills, elevation changes and water to create a demanding northern Michigan parkland round.
History: Robert Trent Jones Sr. selected the future site in 1985, and the Masterpiece opened in 1987 as Treetops’ first golf course. The original opening earned a high new-resort-course ranking from Golf Digest and established the resort’s multi-course identity.
Did You Know? The sixth hole drops from a high perch toward the valley and became known as Treetops’ signature par three, a view that helped inspire the resort’s name.
