Treetops Resort (Fazio Premier)

Overview: The Fazio Premier at Treetops Resort is a northern Michigan course in Gaylord, routed through rolling forest and sandy ground. Tom Fazio used the property's elevation changes, mature hardwoods and natural landforms to make the course feel embedded in the terrain. The routing varies from open sightlines to tree-framed approaches, with bunker edges and green contours defining the shot values.

History: Fazio Premier opened in 1992 after Tom Fazio became involved in the development of Treetops Resort's golf program. It was the first of several architect-led courses at the resort and helped establish the property as a multi-course destination in northern Michigan.

Did You Know? Treetops is a 81-hole resort, with courses by several architects including Robert Trent Jones Sr., Rick Smith and Tom Fazio. The Fazio Premier is the routing that gives the collection its strongest Fazio architectural signature.
