Overview: Trappers Turn's Lake/Canyon combination is an 18-hole public routing in Wisconsin Dells, created by Wisconsin golfer Andy North with designer Roger Packard. The combination plays to par 72 and reaches 6,972 yards from the tournament markers. Lake and Canyon move through glacially shaped ground, wooded corridors, open fairway sections and exposed sandstone-like canyon features. The variety is the main attraction: the two nines do not repeat the same visual language, so the round changes as the land changes.
History: Trappers Turn began with its original course in 1991 and developed into a 27-hole facility as the Lake, Canyon and Arbor nines were completed. The three-nine configuration was presented in 2000, and Lake/Canyon became one of the principal 18-hole combinations. North and Packard worked with the Wisconsin Dells landscape rather than hiding its glacial and sandstone origins, giving the facility a clear geographic identity.
Did You Know? The course's official yardage guide describes the Lake/Canyon tournament combination at 6,972 yards, while the scorecard lists shorter tee totals for the same two nines. The changing numbers reflect a deliberate tee system, not different versions of the course, and let the routing scale to different kinds of play.
