Overview: Trang An Golf & Resort Champion is the main full-length course at the Nho Quan destination in Ninh Binh, set beside the lakes and limestone scenery of the Trang An region. Mark Rathert is credited with the design. The current official course record gives 18 holes, par 72 and 7,200 yards, with two lakes, five streams and 98 bunkers shaping the experience. Fairways follow the natural rises and falls of the site, while deep sand and water around the greens make a seemingly safe approach depend on distance control and the angle of the next putt. The landscape gives Champion a mountain-course feel without losing the scale needed for tournament golf.
History: Trang An was developed as a golf and resort destination near the cultural and natural attractions of Ninh Binh. The current operator describes Champion and the Pine Course as a two-course complex, while a provincial tourism record places the original operation in October 2016 and newer course records use 2018 for the debut of the current pair. Because those milestones are not fully reconciled, this profile leaves the year blank and focuses on the stable course identity: Champion is Mark Rathert's full-length par-72 routing, separate from the Pine par-3 course.
Did You Know? The official course information counts 98 bunkers, two lakes and five streams on Champion. Those numbers describe why the course's challenge is spread across the whole round. Hazards are not reserved for one signature hole; they appear as a recurring network of decisions around fairways, landing areas and green approaches.
