Overview: TPC Twin Cities is a private Arnold Palmer design in Blaine, created with Minnesota native Tom Lehman as player consultant on a former sod-farm site. The par-72 course uses native prairie, wetlands, mature trees and a network of water features to give a metropolitan setting a strong natural identity. Its broad corridors can appear generous from the tee, but the strategy changes around the water and the greens, where the best angle often matters more than a purely aggressive line. The course is both a member layout and a tournament venue with a recognizable Upper Midwest landscape.
History: TPC Twin Cities opened in 2000 as an Arnold Palmer course developed in consultation with Tom Lehman. Its site was a former sod farm north of Minneapolis, and the design team used the rolling land, prairie areas and wetlands to create a course with a natural rather than residential character. The layout became the home of the 3M Championship on the PGA TOUR Champions before the 3M Open brought regular PGA TOUR competition to Blaine. A 2018 competitive enhancement project refined the course while keeping the Palmer and Lehman design language intact.
Did You Know? The official course description counts 27 bodies of water across the property. That number helps explain why the course can feel open from a distance yet still demand careful decisions at several points in the round.
