Overview: The AT&T Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio is a resort championship layout in the Texas Hill Country. Greg Norman designed the course with Sergio Garcia as consultant, using native oak, brush, rocky ground and elevation changes to make position important without covering the property in artificial spectator mounding. The long par-72 routing asks for disciplined approaches into contoured greens.
History: TPC San Antonio opened in 2010 with the Oaks and Canyons courses. The Oaks became the host course for the Valero Texas Open in the same year, giving the Norman and Garcia design a permanent place on the PGA TOUR schedule.
Did You Know? The Valero Texas Open is one of the PGA TOUR's oldest tournaments, first played in 1922, but the event has used the Oaks only since 2010. The course's 16th includes a bunker in the middle of the green, an unusual feature for a modern tournament venue.
