Overview: Located within the Castelfalfi estate in the Tuscany region of Italy, the Mountain Course at Toscana Resort Castelfalfi is an 18-hole parkland course designed by Rainer Preißmann and Wilfried Moroder. Winding through rolling clay hills, olive groves, and historic vineyards, the layout features significant elevation changes and deep ravines. The course demands strategic club selection to navigate the undulating fairways and reach the well-defended greens.
History: Opened in August 2010 following a complete redesign of an earlier layout, the Mountain Course was built as the centerpiece of a luxury resort estate. Preißmann and Moroder carefully routed the 18 holes to respect the historic agricultural contours of the property, creating a layout that emphasizes strategic risk-reward play and natural preservation.
Did You Know? The course offers views of the historic medieval castle village of Castelfalfi, which sits high on a rocky ridge overlooking the valley. The spectacular Tuscan landscape provides a majestic and historic Italian backdrop for a round of golf.
