Overview: The South Course at Toscana Country Club is an 18-hole private Jack Nicklaus Signature course in Indian Wells. Its design emphasizes dramatic elevation changes, rolling greens, substantial bunkering and a lush desert palette set against the Santa Rosa Mountains. Toscana’s current course brochure lists 7,045 yards and par 72 from the Golden Bear tees, with multiple shorter tees. The South is one half of the club’s 36-hole private golf offering and is played through member or invited-guest access.
History: Toscana was established as a high-end private golf community rather than a stand-alone daily-fee resort. Nicklaus Design lists the property as open in 2005, and the club’s current website describes the South and North as separate Signature courses with a shared practice complex and Club Villa. The South’s identity has therefore always been tied to the broader Toscana community: its course, homes, practice areas and social facilities were planned as one member experience.
Did You Know? The club highlights the sixth hole on the South Course because it faces Eisenhower Mountain and makes the surrounding topography part of the shot. That mountain-facing view is a useful way to distinguish the South from the North, whose ninth is framed by arroyos and rock formations. Toscana also promotes a Tee It Forward setup that reduces the course to a 4,550-yard, par-72 option.
