Overview: Situated on the western coast of the Bjäre Peninsula in southern Sweden, Torekovs Golfklubb is an 18-hole links course designed by Nils Sköld. The layout plays over a sandy, low-lying coastal spit, featuring narrow fairways framed by native gorse and heather. Exposed to constant sea winds from the Kattegatt, the course requires precise ball-striking and low ball-flight control to navigate the firm, links-like turf.
History: Founded in 1924 as a simple nine-hole course, the club expanded to its current 18-hole championship links layout in 1974. Sköld carefully routed the holes to preserve the natural coastal dunes and rocky shoreline. The course has committed to environmental preservation, achieving GEO Certified status for its eco-friendly turf management.
Did You Know? Several holes run directly along the shoreline, offering views of the sacred island of Hallands Väderö. This island sits just off the coast and is a protected nature reserve, providing a maritime backdrop for the round.
