Overview: Iris is the shorter 18-hole companion course at Tomakomai Golf Resort 72, measuring 6,541 yards at par 72 from the back tees. The official guide describes an American-style course with shorter hole distances and a welcoming rhythm for beginners and women, while still providing a full scorecard for a complete round. Fairways, bent greens and the open Tomakomai setting make Iris an approachable alternative to the longer Emina routings.
History: The wider Tomakomai Golf Resort 72 facility opened in July 1974 and now combines Emina's three 18-hole courses with Iris. The current official Iris page confirms the route's continuing operation, but does not name a separate architect or state that Iris opened on the same date as the wider facility. The profile therefore records the facility opening as context and leaves the exact Iris design attribution blank rather than copying a fact from Emina.
Did You Know? The sixth hole is a 164-yard par three inspired by the famous sixteenth at Augusta National, according to the official course guide. The reference is architectural rather than promotional: the hole uses a picturesque short-hole idea, but the guide also warns that a player distracted by the view can find an unexpected hazard. Iris has therefore got a small piece of design theatre inside its more accessible layout.
