Overview: Toftrees Resort is an 18-hole Ed Ault course in State College, Pennsylvania, surrounded by the pine woods of central Pennsylvania. The resort layout combines long fairway corridors, forest edges, and a quiet setting close to Penn State with a course scale suited to both visitors and tournament play.
History: The first nine holes were in play by 1968 as the project developed, and the full 18-hole resort course followed in 1971. Ed Ault’s design has remained the foundation of the property, which grew into a hotel-and-golf destination on roughly 1,500 wooded acres.
Did You Know? Toftrees has hosted U.S. Open qualifying, bringing the course into the national competitive pathway even though its everyday identity is that of a resort course near State College.
