Overview: TimberStone at Pine Mountain is a public resort course in Iron Mountain, Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Jerry Matthews routed the 240-acre course through northern forest and mountain terrain, using elevation, views and natural corridors to make the landscape part of the challenge.
History: TimberStone was created as the golf centerpiece of Pine Mountain Resort and has become one of the Upper Peninsula’s best-known destination layouts. Its design is deliberately integrated with the surrounding wooded hills rather than separated from them.
Did You Know? The course sits beside Pine Mountain’s famous ski-jump area. Golfers and ski jumpers share one of Michigan’s more unusual sporting landscapes.
