Overview: The Trophy Club presents 18 holes on 247 acres north of Lebanon, Indiana, with a par of 72. Prairie Creek meanders through the property, which combines gently rolling ground, broad bent-grass fairways, large greens, and taller bluegrass and fescue framing. Tim Liddy's design gives the course an inland links character without removing it from its Midwestern setting. The back tees play to a little over 7,200 yards, while four tee sets provide different ways to approach the wide corridors, strategic bunkers, creek crossings, and undulating green edges.
History: The course was developed as a new 18-hole project in the late 1990s, with Tim Liddy designing the layout for a private owner. Golf Digest recognized it as one of the best new public courses in 1999, and the course later hosted Indiana state and regional events. Its championship profile grew from the combination of a large natural site and a design that offered room off the tee but demanded careful second shots into expansive, sometimes uneven greens.
Did You Know? The Trophy Club's large greens are built to USGA specifications and were designed to support a wide range of hole locations. Prairie Creek is the natural feature that most clearly separates the course from a conventional open-field layout, appearing as a recurring strategic influence rather than a single isolated hazard.
