Overview: The Tree Farm is a private course in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, built on sandy, rolling ground that was once a working tree nursery. The routing moves through pines, scrub and open sandy corridors, with the landform and vegetation providing a loose, natural framework for the holes.
History: Zac Blair developed the project with Kye Goalby, while Tom Doak advised on the routing. The course opened for limited member play in 2023, and its design deliberately avoids the polished resort look associated with large-scale earthmoving.
Did You Know? The former nursery is central to the course’s identity: the name and existing trees are not marketing additions but part of the property’s working history. The course was also designed without a conventional rough line, allowing sandy ground and native growth to define the edges.
